After an easy flight and very little sleep I've arrived in Hong Kong for the first start of the Great Railway Journey. no, no not like Bradshaw's. oh to be able to do that.

I arrived at the hotel and checked in and found that the room was not ready for over three hours. The hotel apologized and you could see they were under the pump. The service is over the top and service staff are plentiful, the concierge especially was under the pump but even though I was a new guest and he checked my name was correct when accepting luggage and explained the situation.

So time to get hold of John and catch up as he flew in from Japan yesterday. That certainly killed some time and finally my room was ready.

Then food and shopping for supplies.
