What a brilliant time you are having, good to see you making the most of every opportunity. Beany now back in UK at work but happy cos boyfriend Ed arrived yesterday. Had lovely time at Granpa Fritz's birthday party, seeing Omi Dagmar & Jethro tomorrow. Weather supposed to be warm here - bla bla!! Are you ever coming back? Can't think why you should, specially not dirty, expensive, cold, overcrowded London! Looking forward to Megans wedding in the Spring, will definitely be going over to SA for that. Carry on having fun! Love Patty

Well hello you little b*****s overseas!
Now because it sucks thst you have so many stunning photos I thought I would send you guys a quick brag to make you miss home.
On Sunday, after a lovely braai Mike and I went to the Black Eyed Peas concert. They came to SA a year and a half ago and decided they did not want their ticket price to stand in the way of people hearing their music. So they did a free concert at Jhb stadium for 40 000 South Africans. We thought we were going to be totally out numbered in that side of the world but people of all races had come from everywhere. It is the first concert I have ever been to in SA where the split was 50/50.
Now after recently going to see the likes of Robbie Williams, Collective Soul, Metallica, Simple Plan, Bryan Adams etc, we did not expect much from the Peas. Let me tell you though it was one of the most amazing performances I have ever been to and both Mike and I left there saying we felt very proudly a South Africa. Squatter Camp and some other SA band preformed & were really good & got the crowd going. They had more back up dancers than most international acts too. Then the Peas came on and preformed for two and a half hours. Each band member was phenomenal and the crowd went mad. They said the word South Africa a few hundred times, they complimented our people and unlike Robbie Williams you could genuinely tell they were thrilled to be in SA. Our dancers make the Peas chick look really bad as the before acts really kicked her butt. They even wrote songs just about SA dedicated to the people. Just when we thought they had done enough to uplift our community, they brought a 9 year old boy onto the stage. They had discovered him in Soweto when they did a music workshop there. He rapped a song and was brilliant! It was as though he had been on the stage for years.
To miss traffic we tried to get up and leave 3 times but were unable to move from our seats till they were finished they were so good. Then 40 000 people, black & white, all left the concert singing. It really showed how far the country has come and gave us all a lot of hope.
David Grey is on his way to SA next. So musically SA is really on top form!
So yes the shopping may be better there but so much is happening back home. I mean you are missing out on exciting news like our deputy president announcing in his rape trial that he washed with soap after he slept with her so he would not get aids! Come on I bet nothing that exciting happens there! Oh plus I live here!!
Have a happy missing home day now & keep taking those stunning pics!
