So I've decided to split this one, figured Noosa deserved it's own post, so here it is. The next one will probably be up next week some time.

Just back from my post-arrival scout around and Noosa is bloody gorgeous. The beach is a hill away (up and down) so both ways I certainly work the gluteus and calves! As for the chicks, well, let's just say Noosa is a pleasure to walk around. Had a look for jobs and a couple of things have jumped out, one being the bar at the hostel; They pay for your RSA and you work for them for a month, free accom and pay if enough shifts. Another is a café close by. Going to look for better paid and more challenging jobs, but it's a start. If neither of them accept before I'm due to leave, I'll be jumping on the dog and riding it to Brissie!
And having just done a quick job search online whilst printing out my 'Resume', I found a telemarketing job (which pays well) however, what was more interesting is a programming position for a company just south of Noosa. Obviously sent out a different Resume to them both.

Noosa's nightlife is pumping. Granted it was a Saturday night, but it was absolutely rammed (eventually). I get the feeling we started the crawl a bit early. Things were just picking up when we left a few of the clubs. But with $3 spirits it's pretty damn cheap too! On the way back we had a close call with the cops; having a slash as they were driving past. They did a U-turn at the roundabout by which point we were casually walking/jogging away. Got a pie and went t'bed. Today is another scorching day in paradise. Went for a walk around the town and the beach area, ate at a café i've applied in. My god, their food is the t***. I had a lamb burger with beetroot relish and tzaziki. I almost came. It was f***ing gorgeous. But I figured, as I won't be buying dinner (free bbq at the hostel!) I could afford to have a more expensive lunch. I should find out later if I get this RSA Bar job here which will determine my stay. But after a walk past the beach, I really think I could stay in this place for a while, it'll be a shame if I leave soon. Although saying that, when we were sat in the town having an Affogatto (one of the best inventions in the world) I realised I may get a sore neck with all the stunning girls in this area. It's ridiculous.
I went to the supermarket to get some headphones and walked out with 1.5kg of steak, 2kg of spuds, butter and toothpaste for £15. This may sound boring. "Why do we care?" But when I tell you that the steak is porterhouse steak and it was $9, you may be a bit more amazed. Looks like I'm reliving my steak days of Sydney for the next few breakfast/lunches! Dinner here is either free (Free BBQ on Sundays and free pizza on Mondays) or $5 on the curry, Mexican & Italian nights.

I've just heard the news that not only is there free pizza at the hostel bar tonight, an hour later there's a free burger at the Irish bar across the road! Double tea tonight then! So anyway, I was awoken by a phone call this morning inviting me to the telemarketing job in Maroochydore for an hours time. "Sure!" I said with a smile. Only to find out Maroochydore is 40minutes away and the next bus doesn't get me there on time. Politely, I phoned up and requested a later time. There were 3 other people in my "interview". Which lasted 15minutes and mainly -consisted of her telling us what the job is and what they're looking for. I'll find out by 17:30 if I've got the job. But I'm in 2 minds. When I get back to the hostel, I'm going to talk to Rob, the bar guy. If I get that, clearly it's going to be more fun and gives me a chance to get a job local to Noosa too. Meaning that this trip and the $20 bus ride was pretty pointless. ... Yeh, thinking about it, I'd rather go for the hostel bar, get my RSA and work in a fun environment. But that's if I get the bar work.
Well I did get the telemarketing job, but I declined. Decided I didn't fancy trying to sell stuff to people who probably can't afford it. Am I crazy? Time will tell. As for the bar work, it was already taken. Ah well. Brisbane, here I come!

This was a more fun day. Spent the morning; booking the hostel and hound to Brisbane. The afternoon; kayaking on the Noosa river. The evening; cooking a gourmet meal and receiving a phone call and being offered a job interview. So all in all, a good day.
Tomorrow I book in to 'bunk backpackers' in Brisbane. It's apparently up there as one of the best. 6 bed dorm with private bathroom for $25 is pretty good for a price too. More importantly, Mr Tom Ross is hitting up Brisbane town with me at some point, should be a lovely taste of Yeovil, maybe without a karaoke bar or man with an amazing tan though. The hostel is in the party centre of Brisbane one of the clubs boasting a 'multi-floor complex' with 'wrought-iron bird-cage like nooks sprinkled about' and a retractable roof. Boy does that paint a picture! The kayaking was pleasant, I'd like to say leisurely cruising down the river without a care, but I'd be lying. We absolutely gunned the first bit and half way around a small island we got stuck in the shallow water. I got out and sunk a good few inches. This was no ordinary sand! It sounds really dramatic, but in truth it was just soft sediment. If we had seen the sting rays earlier, we probably wouldn't have gotten out. Thinking about it, who knows what else was in there! The way back was a struggle, mainly fighting against the incoming tide, so it makes sense. Oh! We saw some pelicans too! They were huge! This evening, I had steak again, yes. But I grabbed some lettuce a small onion (spring onions were expensive) and some mushrooms, made a lovely dinner which you may have seen on facebook. Oh yeh and the job interview, with Infinity Marketing. It could be another selling job, which I hope not, but hell, we'll see. The girl on the phone asked me where I was from and as she'd lived in Yeovil for 9months of her life, we had a lot to talk about. Just chatting for 5 minutes before she decided to mention that I had an interview. So that's on Thursday. Exciting few days ahead, so for now, I'll watch a film and chill out.
