At last my adventure finally begins! Landed in Bangkok at 5ish after a 11 hour flight. Got to the hotel and met with the the group I will spend the next 2 weeks. After the briefing, I have a well needed shower and then headed out to a nice Thai restuarant (only 4 quid for a nice green curry and a couple of beers...bargain!) before hitting Khao sam road! Not all of the group came out but those of us who did had a good time and I had my first Sansom 'Bucket'! After a couple of buckets we went into one of the many bars and had a boggy, got back to the hotel a little tipsy and very jet lagged at about 2ish....thoroughly good night!
Woke up early on the 28th and got into Bangkok to do some exploring! Went to see the Grand Palace, the largest reclining Budha in the world and the flower market (just a the name, didn't actually see any flowers!!) The Palace was absolutely stunning and it was amazing to see a different culture with such beautiful temples. The heat and humidity were the only downside and by midday I was literally dripping with sweat....nice! Took the water ferry back to Khao sam road and stopped for a bit of lunch. After lunch, went for a Thai massage, which was a little uncomfortable in all honesty. Headed back to the hotel to met with the group and to go to the train station to catch our 12 hr sleeper train to Krabi!
