So we spent the night in Nkhata bay and then left early in the morning for Lilongwe, this is a bit of a mission involving a local bus to Mzuzu (there was no chicken but worry not, there was a kitten roaming around) followed by a proper bus to Lilongwe (chicken present - so all was right with the world once again). There were five of us who'd been to Ruarwe travelling together so it takes some of the stress out of the trip and also helps to keep taxi costs down.We arrived in Lilongwe and had planned to head to Zambia the following morning but feeling a bit weary we decided to spend a day in Lilongwe catching up on errands. Lilongwe is the capital of Malawi. In many ways it's a typical large African city although it has a fairly nice feel to it! We mooched around town for a bit, I was on a mission to find a tent (which appears to be the only affordable accommodation in Zambia/ Botswana). I managed to buy a tent from another traveller and we spent the rest of the day just chilling! That night we decided it was time for some booze, so we boozed, I managed to stay up 'til about 3 - many of the other managed longer than that.
