Our stay in the Philippines was the perfect end to our 3 months travel in Asia: postcard beaches, super friendly Filipinos, and the cheapest beer in Asia ;)

Philippines was an absolute (and very positive!) surprise all over!

Being the only Christian country in south-east Asia, we were not surprised to find churches on our path. However we did not expect to find a religious-soaked country: not only fancy churches standing every 500m, but also villages' walls decorated with Bible extracts and images of Maria.

We totally enjoyed Palawan, spending lazy hours at white sand beaches and swimming/snorkelling in turquoise and crystal clear water, from the laid-back Port Barton (where we were almost the only tourists!) to the cliff-stone islands around El Nido.

Meeting the Filipinos was a true discovery: very helpful and friendly people, with an incredible sense of humour and a deep passion for c*** fights! And even if our stay was not so long, we had the time to feel the mixture of cultures that is characterizing this population, from the Spanish traditions to the American and Chinese inputs.

Overall a great experience, and a very pleasant way to say goodbye (at least for the moment) to Asia.
