I am going to change the timing of my post, I have been listing our travel and where we were, then writing about what we did and the last stop. From now on, I am going to wait until we are ready to leave a location, and write every related to that trip.
Last night we spent the night at River Park, in Amsterdam. It was a small town, and unfortunalty the one attraction in town we wanted to see, has been permanetly closed. (The Professional Wrestlers Hall of Fame). We did take the bikes into town. We were looking for a small grocery store, that looked like it had fresh fruits and vegetables. We got there and it was more of a deli that did hot take out food. Small town life at its finest. The bigger problem was I forgot my backpack that I use to carry groceries in, and it had the bike lock in it. So Angel watched the bikes while I checked out the store. We settled for getting bread and rolls at Stewart's. After Stewart's I ran into Dollar General to get a milk crate to mount on the bike. This will make getting supplies easier.
One nice thing about the trip is we keep meeting up with the same boats at different dock's. Sharing the dock with us at Amsterdam is Indigo Seas, Spirit, Anna May, and a new to us boat Beachfront.
Beachfront invited us up for docktails, and we ended up watching the local Junior Prom with them from thier upper deck. The local highschool had thier Prom at the park, under a party tent. It was catered by the restuarant that was in the park. They had a DJ and a photographer. It was fun to watch all the kids dressed up having a good time. The local and county sherrifs were there, as well as a patrol boat from the Sherrif's office. We were not sure if they were there to keep the kids off the sea wall or to keep us from crashing the prom! The restaurant manager was very concerned that we were bothered by the prom being and was bringing free pictures of margarita's to the boats. A great time was had by all, prom goers and boater's.
Today we locked thru with our first commercial vessel. It was a 125' work barge. During the first lock with them we were side by side in the lock with about 8 feet between us, that was not very fun, the other two locks they went in the lock first and left room behind them for the rest of the boats.
The locks are getting much easier to handle.
Tonight we are in Canajohaire, at a free seawall. There is no electric or water. The solar panels did thier job of keeping the batteries well charged during the day, and we will have to conseve power at night.
We spent the day sight seeing. We visited the Arkell Museum and the Van Alstyne Homestead Museum. After that we had a nice steak dinner on the grill back at the boat.

Gene Lillie The guy that married Caroline and I lives in Canajoharie. I’ve been there MANY times. Enjoying your blogs.
John Reynolds Looks like a mini Panama Canal. The old canal has locomotives ( mules ) that pull wires that pull and stop the ship. Went thru about 10 times when I was sailing. Scott : you are dead center in that lock. Good maneuvering. Angel : hope you are doing well. Miss you both. John
