Hello from Rio! Massive apologies for not updating this in about a month, but since my travels have started to move towards their conclusion I have become a little bit lax! I'm in Rio now but i'll try and summarise my last month in a few paragraphs. After Iguazu I left Becca behind to travel on my own for the last month which was a bit of an unpopular decision but one I felt like I had to make, and I've had the best month of my trip and she's had a cracking time so all in all it's a decision which I feel has been vindicated. I flew to Manaus and headed out to the jungle for a few days which was good fun. I got to hold some baby alligators and see some pink river dolphins. I met some German twins who were good fun and so I arranged to meet them just north of Salvador. I flew to Belem for less than the ferry price, saving three days, and then took the bus to Theresina and then Salvador, which took just over two days. Then I went straight to Praia do Forte, an awesome beach resort where we spent three days on the beach. Then we spent the afternoon in Salvador, watched a film and then flew out in the early hours of the morning to Rio where I've spent two awesome weeks in Ipanema. I've been handgliding, to two football matches, two favela tours and to some amazing places with some really interesting people.

Anyway, i'm headed home on Saturday which will be sad but at the same time i've got some great memories and some good times to look forward to over the Summer. South America has been an amazing experience, amazing people, amazing companions and brilliant times. I'll definately be back! Big thanks go out to everyone who's followed my travels, my parents (especially my mother who looked after my tinternet banking whilst I was away and was always on hand with foreign office warnings) and of course my family and relatives who have given me money for birthday and christmas presents since i've been a boy - now you see what i've spent the money on!
