Well, this part of Oz is definitely sugar cane country. Since taking the Bundaberg Distillery tour we have just seen fields and fields of cane growing, and seen cane train after cane train. Where to begin?! Firstly we celebrated Winnie's electrical problem being solved by biking to the local Hotel to watch the State of Origin decider (a bit like the Ashes only interstate Rugby League!). Just over a week ago we left the safety of Bill's house and embarked on our first big trip to Cairns and back - a mere 3,500km, or more if we come back inland! The big 60!! This was always going to be a strange birthday - thousands of miles away from friends and most of the family.
