It's sunny in Milford Sound again, what's going on?! We both agreed that the Sound had looked better the previous morning in the rain. It was more atmospheric and dramatic with waterfalls cascading everywhere and low cloud wrapped around the cliff tops. We drove back down to the bay to see if we could get any better shots in the blazing sunshine. The sun was casting shadows at a different angle and this in my opinion didn't give us a better shot than yesterday evening. Contented we had seen everything we excitedly moved on in the camper. We drove out of Milford on the same road we had come in on stopping along the way to take in a few views and points of interest we had missed on the way in. Namely a place called 'The Chasm' where a large waterfall had carved the rock into a unique and beautiful shape; an after that another short 30 minute walk to a place called 'The Cascades' where a walking platform had been built next to a series of small gushing waterfalls.
The weather held all the way to Queenstown. We had planned to stop off there for a few hours to have a look around. We had to check our emails as we hadn't had a signal for the last few days. We were expecting to find that Nicola had had her baby Bell, unfortunately that wasn't to be the case. Ju was disappointed and would have to wait a few more days before she could become an auntie. Unfortunately we spent two hours at the roadside. The camper we had thought we had hired for the Brisbane to Sydney leg of our Australian tour had been cancelled as there were no vans available. Typical and they had taken a deposit from my account... gggrrr. We managed to organise another camper, accommodation for tomorrow night in Christchurch and a few other admin things online. Running late we eventually arrived in Omarama worn out and ready for bed, it was only 7.30pm.
