Today was a really great day with lots of exciting new things !
Colin and Penny, Tory's parents, invite Diana and me for a drive on the island.
First of all, we checked the drinking water pipelines of lacks or holes. We finally really found a big lack and altogether, we were able to solve the problem and repair the pipeline.
Next step was the windmill. I have never been there before, and it was really great standing in front of such a big and important thing. This windmill takes all the water from the ground to the pipelines that are spread all over the island.
There has been another mill but that one crashed to the ground on account of wind and age.
However this windmill where we went is still doing a very good job. Colin had to change its wings because the wind that was really very strong the last days, had slowed down now. That is why he jad to change the way the wings were pointing to.
Next to the windmill, which is powered by solar power, grow a few bananatrees. They look so funny and you are not expecting them to have bananas. They even had flowers on ;)
Our last destination were the sanddunes. We spent a lot of time there enjoying the beautiful view from different stots. In the end, Colin encouraged me to climb with him on a very big sanddune. He said: " You will miss these sanddunes when you are back in Germany ". And that is exactly what I will do, definetly !
So when we both reached the top of the dune, we rested for a few minutes to enjoy the beautiful view and to come down :D Colin even took some really great pictures of me :) He is really entirely nice and funny.
On our way down the sanddune we used two different technics. He used his back to slide down and I ran it down like everytime. The end of this act was a very crazy but intersting looking dune. On the left side it had just a straight up going depth from Colin whereas my side was signified by little steps going like a curve until the ground. It looked great with the sun and the shade playing on our traces.
On our way back to the homestead we visited my favorite place; there where my jogging path ends. Colin told me that this was an ancien sheep stpring place. The sheep came here to drink some water, so that the people could catch them for getting their whole back in a shed at the homestead. This is also the place where the other windmill lies broken on the ground.
It was really a very funny and informativ day for me, where I learned a lot about the island.
