The beach at Dirk Hartog Island can be used very good to have a kayak tour.
There are two yellow kayaks; one with a blue paddle and another one with a red paddle. As you can see, I chose the red paddle kajak, because it also accompanied me on my first kayak tour a week ago. So I decided that this is going to be my kayak ;)
There are several heading ways you can discover with the kayaks.
The first one goes to the right side of the beach. After crossing "bird island" ( I gave it this name, because there all many birds on the island day in, day out) you paddle straight up to a beautiful little beach behind some rocks. This place is great for swimming or just for relaxing in the sand. This was also my destination, when I had my first kajak tour. During the way to this beach I saw lots of fish in little swarms and even a quite big black shark ! That was amazing and frightening at the same time, because I was kind of nervous in my little kajak with a shark right next to me. But he was friendly and just swam away ;)
The other kayak way goes to the other side of the beach. After turning left you have to paddle for a very long time just along the beach. Within 20 minutes you arrive at the Turtle Beach. The first time I went there by feet and did not saw any turtles. Whereas with the kayak, I saw so many of them and even extremely big ones. Besides, I had a nice picnic at Turtle Beach eating an orange and enjoying my cool coca cola :D
What is also important to mention is the beautiful view to the sanddunes as well as back to the homestead. Moreover, I could see and hear little waves hitting the rocks and I was surrounded by many wildflowers.
All in all, these were both great kayak tours :)
