Vicky and Natalie's Adventures
Well, its been a while. Ecuador and especially the jungle were very green (not suprising I guess) but Peru is a very different story. There has been a lot of sand...mainly because we've been staying on beaches. Its been wonderfully warm and we've taken advantage of the weather by getting up to all sorts of activities. My favourite was probably sandboarding though I did obtain many bruises from it and am only just managing to sit down comfortably! I loved the surfing and was told by Carlos the instructor that I'm a natural...the others were very jealous, especially Natalie who only wasn't very good because she threw herself off the board every time she stood up! We went canyoning in Ecuador too...lots of fun jumping off waterfalls. Since then we've tried for a bit of culture, visiting various places such as Chan Chan - an old Chimu town (pre inca people) made out of mud walls - very pretty! We went to a place called Chauchilla cemetary near Nazca where there were loads of mummies. This was amazing from the point of view of how well preserved the bodies, textiles and ceramics were but otherwise it was a bit creepy. We flew over the Nazca lines...wow! They're nearly as good as the hand at HHGS! Just hanging around cusco now, which is okay but I've been here long enough and am looking forward to starting the inca trail tomorrow. Since I'll be dying on said trail over new year I hope that you all have a drink for me come 2006! I'll let you know how it goes when I get back...hopefully in one piece! Thanks for all the messages, its good to hear from you all!
