Again, another catch up on 2 days.....
Tyndrum - Kings House. We started our 30k walk strongly, reaching the 7 mile bridge of orchy by 11.30 and feeling so cocky that we were striding on swiftly, that we stopped for a half in the lovely bridge of orchy hotel! Maybe that wasn't a great idea, because as soon as we left the hotel we had an uphill slog, sweated buckets, and began cursing every little rock on the path!! Following that was about 13k of monotonous path over the rannoch moor. Don't get us wrong, the mountainous scenery was stunning but the path went on.....and on....and on!! We eventually saw our hotel for the night on the horizon, but again the path went on....and on.... And it took forever to actually reach the hotel! When we got there we were rewarded with the sight of seeing the glen Coe mountain rescue helicopter landing outside our hotel to stop in for a burger and lemonade for their tea!! The Kings House Hotel, hmmmm, not the best at all! For starters no tv, so louise couldn't catch up on the soaps, and also a rubbish shower, and basically just in need of an upgrade! But the venison burgers were good, and the bar was comfy. Think we've been spoiled in our previous abodes!!
Kings House - Kinlochleven. Treated ourselves to a lie in this morning due to this being the shortest stretch of the way (although it turns out not the easiest!!). We set off in driving rain, tackling the 'devils staircase' as best we could, but it was tough mentally and physically (we're feeling a tad tired at this stage!). It was great getting to the top and literally as soon as we reached the top the clouds parted and the sun shone! 8k descent took its toll on our weary legs, but we made it down over a rocky path into kinlochleven. The edencoille b&b tonight is amazing! Elsie our host greeted us with fruit and cream merengues and our room is full of chocolate, biscuits, tea, coffee, foot spas, bath robes, flameless candles and we have a TV AND a shower!! Downstairs is a residents lounge full of dolls, teddies, fairies......granny chic at its best! We love it! The best breakfast menu ever should please us in the morning......night night! Xxx

Tracey Ives Well I have seen the dolls, fairies and teddies and am questioning whether you are in fact in Narnia and not Scotland! You have excelled yourselves and it's nearly done! Well done, just 1 day to go. Keep it up xxx
Mummy Rees Foot spas? Bath robes? Well deserved - you're amazing! The scenery looks outstanding and the meringues look pretty good too!!! Well done on another day's hard work. You're nearly there! X
Lynne Yay, Sian, wel done so far..that easy sounding downhill into Kinloch is a real knee cruncher, Dave and I both agree...and never ending too!! B and B sounds wonderful, you do deserve it, and tomorrow night' s lodging will be even better cos you'll have DUN IT!!!! Whoo hoo! watch out for a certain steamlet half way over the moor, ther are many, but this one I decided to jump over....bad idea, I came a real cropper, ended up with a bruise the size of a saucer on my leg, all the colours of the rainbow, everyone laughing at my discomfort, and I'm sure there is still an indentation on the stones where I landed!! We hear there are quite a few hostelries in Fort Bill should you feel the end to celebrate Friday evening, or will it be hot choc and early to bed? you decide!!!! we'll raise a glass to your endeavour, cheers xx A
Nina Bayliss Well done girls. Sounds wonderful and horrific all at the same time. Have a glass (or two) for me tonight.
