To get to the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia we had a bit of a travelling nightmare ahead of us. We left our hotel at Asia Divers and got a taxi to the boat port. Kao Tao is the smallest of 3 islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao) and is only 21 sq km. We left Phonm Pehn and headed for Siem Reap were Angkor Wat temple is and many other surrounding temple ruins. We had yet another 6 hour bus journey to complete before we got to Siem Reap which we weren't looking forward to very much. We got to the Cambodia border after about 3 hours of travelling. We all had to get off the bus and get our backpacks to take to be x rayed at the border inspection area.
