Quite possibly the friendliest place we've visited on this trip. We stayed in a place called Ambalangoda - not a tourist resort but a small town. We had booked a villa through Airbnb and it was perfect. The villa was situated in jungle gardens on the river. We love KL and use it regularly as a hub to travel round south east asia. It is a cheap, friendly, easily accessible place - nothing like London then! Our favourite area is Brickfields or Little India as it is known. Even though it is part of a big capital city, it has a vibrant and diverse community atmosphere. The Andaman coast on the west side of southern Thailand is known for limestone karst islands, long, stretching, white-sand beaches and coral reefs. We only spent a couple of nights at Kota Bharu but we really liked it. We had got a really cheap public bus there from Kuala Besut for 6 Ringgits each and it terminated 100metres from our Hotel - Temenggong, so we were in a positive mood when we got there.
