Hello! I arrived safely in Johannesburg, South Africa at about 5pm today which is about 11am back in the states. All flights were relatively uneventful. The flight from DC to Dakar, Senegal was about 7 1/2 hours. I ended up watching movies most of the time because I wasn't tired yet, but I did get about 2 hours of uncomfortable sleep. I know much more about what I'll be doing when I'm in Namibia now. During the day, I will be teaching at the Combretum Educational Trust School. One of their teachers (Peter Omura: also American) requested paternity leave for two weeks so I will be filling in for him teaching 8th - 11th grade math. This is not exactly the same as 8th - 11th grade math in America; the 11th grade is learning trigonometry currently. Also, many of the students do not go to school...
