So the time has come for our final NZ blog entry ......
We left Queenstown and headed towards Milford Sound and ran out of diesel in the middle of no where ... oopsy ...no signal so Saz had to hitch a lift back to Te Anau (approx 150km miles away) to get us some more fuel ... Duh!!!
We finally got to the Sound, named after Milford Haven in Wales and wow wow wow was it beautiful photos dont really do it justice ... We took a boat trip around the sound and a large pod of Bottle-nosed dolphins joined us for the ride!!! incredible.
Back to Wanaka where we met with George and Elliott again and decided to treat ourselves to a night out as we had just booked our Sky Dive for the following day and the weather was looking promising. Great night out and woke up to beautiful blue skies which could only mean one thing, we were going to be jumping out of a plane, 15, 000ft up in the air, free falling at apx. 160m an hr for 60 seconds and then parachuting for 8 mins! It was the best thing we have ever done ... After about 6 seconds of terror sitting on the edge of the plane, the free fall was amazing and the adrenaline incredible. Wonderful views of Mt. Cook and the lakes and worth every penny, can’t wait to do the next one!!
From Wanaka it was North to see the Glaciers, we did a trek on the Fox Glacier, crampons and all! Good experience , but must admit after seeing the Moreno in Patagonia this one seemed bog standard!
We fly back to Auckland tomorrow and then over the Fiji
For now, goodbye from NZ ....
