Sawadee ka guys!! Hope you're well. We have arrived in Ko Samui now finally after 2 full days traveling, but more about that later. Now I want to fill you in on our favorite place visited so far: PAI!!
We spent 3 nights at this wonderful place. As soon as we arrived we fell in love with it! Pai is a small hippy town; so green and peaceful. The town consisted of two main roads lined with small restaurants, cafes, random shops. We settled in, dismounted our huge backpacks and chilled for the first night. Very welcome after our list night in Chang Mai with our jungle group, Charlie and Laura.
We hired scooters the next morning..wooo that was fun, after a bit of a shakey start. But after a bit of swaying and assistance from passers by on how to..erm start them up again, we were off....
into the hills to find the hot springs shown on the map. We were expecting to find some magical mountain top natural spa...but instead came across the Mae pen rae spa which was really just a boiling hot bath outside, with huts around..mmmm just what you want in the middle of a scorching hot day!! So we had a dip and then headed off on our rides to a swimming pool nearer the town called fluid! Amazing, so chilled, plenty of room to sunbathe, Jack Johnson blaring out the bar..we were happy. However a mere hour later a thunderstorm struck causing us all to head into the bar where we were to remain for the next few hours. Not so bad as the music, company, food and milkshakes were good! The barsaff were offering us all shots while we were waiting..and only our luck that we couldn't drink as we were driving!! oh the irony!! At least we got a free pass for the next day.
Went on a bit of a bar crawl that night. Good times, left scooters at home. Winner!
On our last night we decided to have a quite one but thought to check out a bar called Ting Tong just for a couple! Honestly you guys you should have seen this place. Outside bar with all sorts of amazing seating areas..tree houses, chill out logs. We were saying how amazing an afterparty would be there if it was in Leeds. There was even a guy fire jugling..the best we've seen. He was also the the barman! He was awesome a right cheeky monkey. His English was in a strong cokney accent, and said things like "oi excuse me mate" "yore ment-al" So funny. He insited on trying on selina's dress that I was wearing (over top and leggings) and wore that all night! All the barmen were ace, we sat at the bar chatting to them all night.
So our quietest night turned into one of the funniest and not so quiet yet. They let me behind the bar to make our cocktails, then loved it so much they got me to write down what it was and the ingredients for the menu.
I completely made it up so I called it the Claireloupolitan!! Very surreal.
Another night of face-ache! Traveling back to Bangkok wasn't so funny but we're at the islands now. Whoop more news soon.
Love you all
