Up early and grabbed breakfast at the bakery. Quite confusing, as nothing is labeled, so it's hard to tell what has meat, and what has jam. Caught the bus to Puerto Viejo over on the Caribbean coast, about 4 and a half hours with one pit stop. Amazing scenery on the way out, beautiful lush mountains. apologies for not having updated this, Internet access is pretty sporadic here.... have been stealing enough wifi to check emails and update facebook on my ipod..... Left Monica and Gilles' house on Friday 10th and flew via Newark to San Jose. Obviously sat next to two fat people who were comlaining that the seats were too small (not the other way round?). Arrived in about 9, got a taxi straight to the hotel, and straight to bed after a long day flying. Wok...

Caught the bus on Sunday back to Toronto form Peterborough, then on to Guelph to visit cousin Bill, and his lovely wife Andrea, and their 2 cute kids Celia and Isaac. Got given a crash course in Spanish from speaking to the kids. Woke up on the Monday to huge amounts of snow! I was totally unprepared for cold weather, and got soggy feet. Got picked up by uncle Pat, and spent the night in Elora with him and Rosie, then back to Guelph. Had a wonderful few days ...

I've not had a chance to update this yet..... I arrived into Toronto on Wednesday afternoon, and my aunt Gerda picked me up at the airport. Spent the day at hers, and then headed into the city centre to meet cousin Remy and his ex wife Val. We had dinner at a lovely wee place, that was super cheap (love Canada food prices!) and I tried my hardest to stay awake. Finally started to fade, and took the subway back to Gerda's. Almost fell asleep on the way back.....

Henry and Martha gave me a lift to the airport, it was really sad to say goodbye to them, and to leave beautiful Costa Rica. But it was time for ther next stage of my adventure..... San Jose airport was full of people wearing marks to protect them from swine flu, but nowhere was selling them, so I took my chances! Had a long wait as the flight was delayed for no apparent reason. Got to talk to some nice people, including an American girl who'd been in Edinburg...
