Hi All! I'm preparing for my trip to Quito and Galápagos! Haven't packed yet even though I'm leaving on Saturday...two days from now. For those who know me, I'm a huge planner so this is veryyyyyyyy unlike me. Come to think of it though, the last two trips I booked last minute too.
Anyways, I researched volunteering for several months after I accepted the job with summers off and immediately thought, "where to next?" Why not do something meaningful while exploring the world?
I literally found out everything was confirmed this Tuesday, again 4 days before I leave. So, I've been scrambling ever since and really shouldn't be writing in this blog when I should be packing. Whatever.
The travel bug bit me hard in 2005 when I went to the DR and out of the country for the first time. Some may say its a little crazy doing this trip so impulsively (mom :) ), but I find it exciting and a wee bit anxiety-provoking at the same time. My thoughts and feelings in my mind have a range of emotions about simply learning that I'm going. I'm sure they will range once again when I'm actually in the airport too.
I will be staying in a volunteer house for the majority of the time and I know I will be meeting amazing travelers like I have every other time I've traveled!
