I was having a good night's sleep in the guest house in Pak Beng until the Cockerel decided to start crowing about 4 am right through till when we left on the boat. I left Chiang Rai quite early in the morning, although the transport was running late we made it to the border for Immigration. The Immigration process was actually quite simple, I don't know why I felt the need to get a tour when I could have done it myself. After the incident with the ants in the last guest house and being bitten to death (my body now looks like the Ebola virus has attacked) I took a couple days to stay in Chiang Rai and see the town. Chiang Rai is a surprisingly small town, even smaller than Chiang Mai which I didn't think was possible.
