Melbourne
Well, as usual this was now ages ago so its difficult to know where to start! (Firstly - the picture above is not mine - having issues getting photos across from facebook so i'm stealing the blog site's photos)
Right so - first things first - Nisha and I had to do the Neighbours tour. (obviously) So an Irish (?!!) guy picks us up in a neighbours bus and informs us we are about to go on the cheesiest tour ever! In the bus we were treated to an old episode of neighbours (the one where dee and toadie get married and then drive off a cliff in case anyone is wondering) and then we were taken to the outside sets they use. (The inside sets are strictly out of bounds during the week - heaven forbid someone should see the next storyline!)
There we met Karl Kennedy (or rather the actor who plays karl Kennedy) who is the friendliest man in the world! After we drove to Ramsey street (actually not called Ramsay street) but they were filming so we couldn't walk down the street. It's an actual real life street they use - they just pay the people who live there money to use their road every day!
Our other main adventure was a trip to Phillip Island. Here the penguins (called "little penguins" because they're little) all come out of the sea and walk across the beach at sunset. It was sooo cool - they all came out in groups and looked around and then ran back in - too scared - its not time yet! some of them had many attempts before they finally crossed! On the way we stopped off at another australian wildlife park, but this one was much better - mostly because the only people there were the 18 on our bus. At this wildlife park the kangaroos were most pleased to see you and came bounding up to demand the food they knew you had! it was nice and not commercial like the other one.
Other than that our days in melbourne were spent exploring the city, including a walk to "Brighton Beach" (no really!)
Melbourne isn't so beautiful or dramatic as sydney - but i'd much rather live in melbourne. it has a really nice atmosphere about the place, it's much more relaxed and chilled out - i'd recommend a visit!
love to everyone xxx
