Since the train ride would have been too long, our group flew from Barcelona to Bilbao. After the flight finally got off the ground, there were delays because of rain, we all ended up sleeping on the plane ride. After finding our hotel, we took off to see the famous Bilbao Guggenheim Museum of Art, designed by Frank Gehry.
Unfortunately, most of the museum was closed off for changing exhibits, but we did get to see the Richard Sera exhibit, which was very cool in and of itself. We visited the Concert Hall and Maritime Museum that night as well. We wandered around quite a bit of the old section of town, and ended up eating the greasiest pizza I've ever had, sitting on the ground in the pedestrian street, since the pizzaria had no seating.
This morning, we hiked up one of the hills surrounding the city to see our site for the small project that we would be doing, and spent the day working on the project and sketching the Guggenheim.
