Well yesterday, Sunday 20 February 2011, after three years living in Glenelg, South Australia, we left to begin our new life in (what now given recent events seems ironic is known as)the Sunshine state, Queensland. First though, we're taking a few weeks to travel up there, taking in the Great Ocean Road, Sapphire Coast and finally the Central Coast before we reach our final stop of Upper Coomera and that brings us to our current location of Robe about 3 1/2 hours drive from Adelaide. I have to say yesterday was tinged with sadness, you can't spend three years in a place without having some cracking times and making some great friends and saying goodbye to two in particular tested out the durability of my Kleenex tissue, however that said my liver should be better for it!
We arrived in Robe around 5 pm last night and are staying at a lovely little place called the Dunes which is very cute, very central and very comfy. We are easing ourselves back into traveling, thankfully the camping does not commence till day three. Last night we headed straight down to the Caledonian, the local pub and had some lovely food and once there we discovered that its the only place we seem to be able to connect to the internet, which I'm using as the reason we have already been back in for a vino today and it's only four o clock!
Robe is a quaint little town with a real mix of beach and greenery, and it's fair to say that although we are both a little apprehensive about what lies at the end of the trip, right now we are happy and excited about what the future holds.
We leave Robe tomorrow and our next stop is port fairy.
