Hi Guys
Sorry that it has been sooo long since i have been able to update this page!! as i've been in the middle of nowhere, its not been easy to get an internet connection! Anyhows i'm back now!! Quick update.... i didn't manage to do my skydive because of the weather, too much cloud!! how rude! Heading back to Cairns tomorrow, hope keep your fingers crossed for me!!
Ok, where do i start... I;ve done so much over the last week! On saturday i had an early start for my trek across the country... and what a long trek it was... 3 days!
Day 1- we head out and our first stop was Millstream falls...not really that interesting, but pretty... see pics! Then we headed off into the middle of nowhere for some picnic lunch, lunch over and our next stop was porcupine gorge... looks alittle bit like a small grand Canyon (very small!) Our accommodation was in a little town called Hughenden which was in the middle of nowhere, it only had one pub in the whole town, which was at our hotel! Had a wicked night...a few beers and then mixed with the locals, you maybe able to see them in some of the pictures, they were all in fancy dress... very funny night!
Day 2- another early morning, and we were off again acorss the outback! Its a very bizzare place, the road although they are highways are just dirt tracks for the most of it! again see pictures! First stop was a town called Wintion (this is famous for Waltzing Matilda and a few other things! We then stopped at Carisbrooke station where we had a bbq in the middle of nowhere, which was pretty cool, after lunch we stopped of at a pub that is basically in the middle of nowhere called the 'middleton pub' considering that it was in the middle of nowhere it was pretty busy! We stayed at a cattle station as accommodation which was pretty cool, had the opportunity to sleep outside, but decided agasint is as i would be sleeping in the outback on my trip to Uluru! We spent the night star gazing... even managed to spot a falling star, which was cool!
Day 3- Last day was a little long... had 800km to travel today, but the guide kept us all entertained with bus games! We stoppped the bus in the middle of nowhere... i know i keep saying this, but this place was in the middle of nowhere.... couldn't see nothing but fields for miles and miles!- see pics.... also as a 5 meter high termite mound... minging!!
