Day 9 Rome Today we woke up and had a decision to make. The Airbnb we had booked was not up to standard. The smell coming from one of the toilets had infiltrated the living room and our bedroom. Day 8 Today we headed to Rome. We had organised a water taxi to pick us up at 9am and take us to the train station. We grabbed a bite to eat and waited for the train to depart. Day 7 Today we woke to a very hazy day and prepared for our pre-arranged Venice tour booked from 9am until 3pm. We met our guide at the edge of St Marks square and she told us about the history of the square and pointed out various landmarks. We walked over to Doge's palace and saw the Bridge of Sighs and Prison of the Venitian Republic. We then went into the Basilica of St Mark, and marvelled at the impressive architecture and murals. Day 6 Today we had a free day in Venice. We had breakfst in a local cafè and quickly realised that bruschetta, and a flat white in Italy is vastly different to that in Australia. Despite our interesting breakfast, we put some washing on and got set to 'get lost' in Venice. Day 5 The day started early with breakfast at 7am and in the cab by 8:15am. We headed to Munich Central Train Station and got on the train to Venice, Italy. The trip took us through the Alps in both Austria and Italy. The scenery was amazing. Although it has only just gone into Autumn, we still managed to spot some snow on top of the Apls.
