I am in Vientiane, capital city of Laos. It does not look like a capital city but certainly has a more international flavour than the rest of Laos. The food in Laos is generally poor, certainly when compared to Thailand and the western food is terrible but at least in the capital there is still a strong French influence left over from the days when it was part of French Indochina and the French food is edible.
