Our tour finished about 7:45 and it had rained steady for the full two hours. We were like drowned rats, drenched from head to toe. Anyway, we then walked through the rain to the Observatory, pictured here, for a two hour session in their planetarium. One thing we learned is that the reason it has two domes is that after the first one was built, they discovered that the tower on the left obscured a part of the view of the sky, so rather than tear the tower down...

This is the oldest pub in the Rocks, dating back to 1826.

Well, did we ever call it wrong. Around four thirty the black clouds started rolling in and we headed back to the hotel for rain gear. Our walking tour was at six and by five to the sky had opened up and it was pouring dingos and wallabies, but we decided to go anyway. The poor tour guide though, didn't expect rain and wasn't prepared for it. Anyway, this is the oldest house in the Rocks, the original settlement of Sydney, and built by Irish convicts.
