Just a quick photo of the hammocks we slept in opposite Angel Falls :)

3-4 hours in the motorised canoe (and therefore a very numb bum), a few stops for swimming, lunch and we finally arrived at our campsite which was directly opposite Angel Falls. The view was incredible. To get to the closest viewpoint of the falls it was a tough hour hike through the forest/jungle over rocks and tree roots with lots of uphill in very humid weather. We spent the afternoon hiking to all the waterfalls around the camp and going swimming. We were able to go behind a few of the waterfalls which was wet but awesome! Got some beautiful pictures but they are on our big cameras and unfortunately having to update blog using phone at the moment so the pictures uploaded are pictures of pictures - hence the poor quality!

We took a small 12 seater plane to Canaima where we landed in the tiniest airport ever. We were picked up by our tour and taken by motorised canoe across the lagoon to our camp. We had a big room and there was a communal area with hammocks where you could chill and read your book whilst listening to the waterfalls around. Very peaceful.

After delayed and missed connection flights with some added stress and drama in Caracas we eventually (with the help of a lovely Venezuelan man) got on a plane to Puerto Ordaz to head to Canaima National Park to see the Angel Falls.
