Monday night dinner was delicious! We stayed at the sailing club all night due to their 'jam jars' -$2 cocktails of unknown origin- they did the trick. Woke late Tuesday 8th and went to the mud baths. Mud soak, mineral shower, infused mineral bath, foot massage, hot spring, ful body massage. Dead cheap and we left feeling relaxed and ready for the sleeper train journey to Da Nang. The train was filthy! Bribed the staff for some clean linen at least. Comfortable night as there was no area to meet and drink, so we all slept. Arrived 2 hours late due to the train being 'broken'. Another hour in the bus to Hoi An. We are on the wrong side of town as the old town is flooded after several day's rain. Met for lunch then explored the town. There isa huge market with exotic and odd fruit, interesting looking meat, and the usual tat all displayed on the pavement. This means sharing the road with the abundance of scooters! Walked across town untill there was no path through the floods and turned back. Its much more sleepy here than Ho Chi Minh. Its famous for tailoring here so most people are having suits made up obvernight but having no room to keep one or a need to wear it I have abstained! There are some beautful dresses, table cloths etc on sale here. Tonight we meet for dinner and presumably more drinks, then meet early to visit a temple in the morning and a bike ride aroubnd the parts of town that aren't underwater in the afternnon, followed by some fruit tasting. Got some good pics of building etc today- I wil add them when I can.
Hope you're all ok, Roxy xx
