Ross and Nina Uncut
We stayed for a week or so in Melbourne with a friend of ours from Africa. Alice kindly offered to let us stay and show us the sights. She stayed in the south east of Melbourne, in one of the nice leafy suburbs.
We arrived late so our first night was spent catching up with her and having a few beers. Then in the morning we were off to see Ramsay street the home of Neighbours, before playing footy in the park with Alice's boyfriends mates.
Alice drove us down to Sorrento where her parents have a holiday house. It was a really nice seaside village, which has a huge national park on its doorstep. We went for a walk there and sampled the local nightlife.
On the Monday Alice had to work so we were on our own again. We went into town and saw the MCG, Fedration Square and the immigration museum. During the week we also saw the Ian potter art museum, St Kilda (an area of Melbourne) and the Yarra river.
Our time in Melbourne wouldnt have been complete without going out so we did a pub crawl along Brunswick street and went to see a gig in St kilda. However the highlight for Ross was the Neighbours night at a pub in St Kilda where you get the opportunity to meet the stars of Neighbours. The night we went we saw Toady, Max and Stuart as well as watching Dr Karl Kennedy performing live in his band! Doesnt get much better!
We had a great time here and we'd like to say thank you to Alice, Marc and Paul for putting us up and showing us around. Looking forward to seeing them in Scotland some day so we can return the favour!
