Today is the day. We've waited months for this. It all feels surreal.

Who knows what lies ahead...

Pol was not looking forward to an 11 hour flight (no room, bad food, little sleep and potential flu catching territory). We considered tranquilizers.

We arrived at the Perth Airport in a somewhat sombre mood due to the flight ahead and trepidation about 'leaving the nest.' Two bags and 50kg later, we were presented with an irresistible offer...A FREE UPGRADE TO BUSINES CLASS.

Ros, a business class veteran, showed polly the ropes; personal entertainment system, fully reclining (massaging) seat, how to drink Moet Champaign and what to order on the menu......The Ritz.... on an plane.

That was leg one....11 hours of absolute comfort.

Leg 2 was a different story.

Back to economy. Ros; sleep heaven. Pol; 6 hours of sleep hell. Many multiplayer games between us later and complaining from Pol we finally landed in London.

Ros's dad picked us up from the airport (thank you!) and we were heading towards a real bed, real food and a shower.
