Back on the road again and heading for Winton which is renowned for its dinosaur fossils. We had a busy day yesterday as we went to the stock mans hall of fame and watched an animal wrangler show which was really funny,Lisa you would love it. We are now in Longreach for a few days as there is quite a lot to see here. We went to the Qantas museum today where you get to walk all the way through a 747 jumbo and look inside the cockpit. For another $100 you get to sit in the pilot seat and walk onto the wing of the plane but we didn't do that. We were supposed to go on a sunset dinner cruise tonight but the weather has turned and it has rained all day so they cancelled it,hopefully we will be able to go...

We are now in Blackall for an overnight stopover,but we managed to get a swim in at the pool and artesian spa which was wonderful,the pool was 30 and the spa was 35 so as you can imagine I was in my element. They also have a camp oven tea at this caravan park too but after last nights tea which was fantastic I don't think I can eat for a week,but we will see. Apparently Tania kernaghen is playing in town tonight and I think the hall backs on to the caravan park...

Today we were lucky enough to strike the only day of the year that had a solar eclipse,and there just happened to be a cosmos centre here where you could view the sun through a telescope. We got to see the sun in an eclipse where you could see the solar flares coming off it and the sun spots up close. We also did a tour of the planetarium which was really interesting them got to have a one on one talk afterwards where we got to hold all different types of meteor...

We are now In sunny Queensland in Charleville,we will be staying here a couple of days as there is a bit to see around here. It was a long boring drive up to here,550kms of nothing but straight roads and road kill every hundred metres. There are so many wild animals on the side of the road up here that you would be crazy to drive at night. I took a picture of a novel idea for all your used horseshoes Lisa,they looked great and were really practical.
