I have to say Melbourne was by far one of the best places ive been to date in Australia.
My first trip took me out to the great ocean road. This had some really amazing scenery. Th twelve apostles and land bridge where picture perfect. We travelled all along the coast to a place called Koala cove. As you can imagine it was full of Koala's. This was my first sight of a Koala. What can i say about them other than they sit there sleeping all day. We also went to the famous light house that appeared in round the twist for those who remember that programme.
I also had my first close encounter with Kangaroos and Emu's. Getting really up close and personal with them. From the Great ocean road we headed more north to the grampians where we camped over night with our australian tour guide. He got us involved with some real aussie food like kangaroo and croc. We then did some trecking in the grampians which brough us to various waterfalls and aboriginal cave drawings.
When back in Melbourne i stayed in the famous st Kilda area. This area was fantastic. Right on the beach but walking distance to the city. It had a real charm about it. At night you could stroll down to the beach and see mini penguins coming in and out of the water to feed there young. This was especially fun to watch.
What trip to melbourne would be complete though without a tour of Ramsay street. So i got involved with a neighbours tour met various cast members new and old. It was really cheesy but fun.
So i leave melbourne now for the bright lights of Sydney.
