Hey everybody, Just got back from a 5-day safari around and near Uluru (Ayres Rock). It was possibly the best 5 days of my life. Absolutely incredible! Every night we bush camped, stopping the jeep somewhere in the middle of nowhere, collecting firewood and making a camp. We were sleeping in swags, basically large canvas sleeping bags with a very thin mattress in the bottom. No tents, so every night just lay there looking up at the stars. Spent one day walking around Ayres Rock, it is so incredible, a lot more than just the photos/postcards you always see of it. The other days we spent doing walks in the surrounding area, hopefully I'll get some photos on soon. Had an awesome storm on the second night, 4 hours of the most intensive lightning you ever saw. Just fantastic. I can't describe how amazing it was, or the effect the whole thing has had on me.
