Back in civilisation now in Chiang Mai. Found ourselves a really nice little guest house in the heart of town and so far we are really liking it here. It has a much more laid back feel to it than Bangkok but still with plenty to see. Only arrived here yesterday afternoon having made a quick stop in Phitsanulok (on our way back from the Rain Forest) and then Lampang to see Thailands most alluring temple (apparently!) Well what a packed few days! Left Bangkok on Wednesday and made our way to Ayutthaya where we had arranged to stay at what turned out to be a great little boarding house, resided over by the most eccentric old lady I have ever met! She was great. Really helpful but completely mad and spoke the weirdest English I've ever heard. There was a lovely big lotus pond in the back with a pagoda reaching out into the middle. The only problem was the cockrels wandering ...

Having a great time in Bangkok. Did all the major sites yesterday and my god they've got a lot of Buddhas! We've seen big Buddhas, little Buddhas, standing Buddhas, sitting Buddhas, massive reclining Buddhas, tiny little green Buddhas even skeletal Buddhas...its Buddha-tastic!! (As Rob would say!). We're off for a night on the town now then out to the floating market in the morning. Robin will finally get his much awaited Lady-boy experience in Pat-Pong tomor...

Well we haven't got off to the best of starts on our world tour. BA (bless their little cotton socks) have messed up our booking so when we got to Heathrow yesterday there wasn't actually a ticket for us! They've somehow managed to cancel several segments of our trip and weren't going to let us on the flight. After several hours negotiation they supposedly fixed the problem and got us on the flight...but it turns out we still don't have tickets for the full tri...

We're sitting in the pub making final (well fairly final) preparations for the trip -only 4 weeks to go...or more importantly only 12 more 'get-ups' for Chloe. Robin doesn't know how many more get-ups he has but he know's he currently hates computers and is looking forward to the lady boys!!! (Chloe is slightly concerned about this - but I think he'll have a shock when he gets there!!)
