We have actually managed to leave Hanoi and moved down south to a wicked place called Hoian. We went to a top place called Halong bay before leaving hanoi and landed here yesterday 3/11/04. We had a beautiful 25 hour coach journey from halong bay, which was nice (not). Anyway we have been hard at work trying to get as many clothes made here as possible as it so bloody cheap. I have just had a leather jacket taylored to the same style as my denim for a massive 40 notes. And a lovely suit made for 18 notes, which is identical to my Hugo Boss suit back home. Anyway just to make you all feel a little better when reading this, IT IS RAINING AT THE MOMENT. There feel better.
Leaving Hanoi was a really sad moment as we had to say good bye to our very good friends Asa and Mitch. We were all gutted and very sad, we have travelled together thru 4 countries and all can not beleive that we will not be travelling together again on this trip. But we have arranged to meet up next Xmas either in Sweden or even better Alaska, which is Mitch's homeland. They pretty much think they will be in Alaska. Anyway if you read this message you two travel safe and look after each other, we cant not wait to see you both soon. Miss ya loads.
Hoian is a top place and the hotel we have is wicked for 7 dollars a night, with all trhe mod cons, like ac, fridge, fan and cable. OMG was has america done voting that k*** in again for another term. They have let themselves down big time, anyway enough on that subject. I will get more photos up soon on the board when I find a tinternet cafe with good upload speed. to be fair this one aint that bad. anyway catch ya all laters need to mail some of you back as i have been a bit lazy since setting off on this journey.
Love ya all and miss you all a little too. adios

Good to hear it's going well....apart from close shaves! I'd give me tennis arm to be there.. Will be next year though! (with any luck) Not alot to tell you really... usual stuff..coaching ok, everyone says hello especially my mum! Great pics by the way, i keep checking the site regular, but if you don't get many more replies it's due to the fact my drone is far too annoying to pester you with, as i generally don't have that much to say!! Have fun..and take care..

Hello everyone just got back from Phansipan. It was amazing. I think it should be renamed a climb as it was not a trek at all. It has been a long time since I rock climbed and we did it all without any ropes. No company in europe would never run any climb like that without proper equipment, anyway we are back safe and a litte stiff from so much hard work. Carla had a close shave on the last day on our way back to Sapa, she sliped down a cliff face but lucky for us all it was only a 20 foot drop. I felt sick when I saw her fall, anyway just a couple of scratches and bruises. Bless her she was so brave, the first thing she did was crack a joke about her nails been ok. I am really gratefull to our guide and porter(Dinh & Son) as they helped carla get thru some really difficult situations as we all know that carla is scared of hieghts, and believe me there were some really arse twitching moments for us all.
Sapa was a beautifull place that felt and looked like a swiss/austrian mountain town. We waited for Mitch and Asa to arrive in Hanoi and we did the trek with them (they truely are great people). Got back this morning at 5.00am nursing the mother of all hang overs, as we got totally lashed last night so we could sleep on the night train. I will get some photos of the trek uploaded when I remember to bring the camera out with us.
We will be heading oout of hanoi tomorrow to halong bay for one night on a boat, which will be nice. Looking forward to getting some beach action in the south of Vietnam as I feel we really need a break after the last few days.
Anyway catch ya all later and will update the photos soon.

Hi,
The new pics looks great. Watch out for those river flukes!! Perhaps that just in the Mekong. LP looks very chilled. We are sat in the airport waiting for our plane to Satiago which has been delayed from 6.25pm to 5 to 1am!! We arrive god only knows if ever! Where abouts are you now in Sapa? Are you enjoying Vietnam? Dont stress about the daft notes - we spend ages writing to people and sending pictures often resulting in stupid comments like get back to work.

Hi Folks.
Drama!!!!!!! Thought we had lost Meg.She stayed out all night the other night and we thought we had lost her. Didnt come home all day until I got home from work, stood at the bottom of our garden and shouted Meg in a sad voice loads of times until she came home. Steve, our next door neighbour even started miaoing to try and make me feel better. Anyway, she is safe and sound and I think that has given me a bit of confidence cos she knows where her new home is and will come back!! Meg says hello, by the way. Just going to have a gander at your fotos so take care. Love and Miss you. xxx

Hey guys, its rainy and dull here, as per usual, I can only imagine the time the pair of you must be having out there. Beautifull city result, not the words I would have choosen, but then again those words are unprintable when young eyes might be reading. I'll give it to united though, great to see the gooners unbeaten run ended, especially by a second rate bunch of hasbeens. Its the glorious blues all the way now mate (of the royal veriety of course, not those sky blue dreamers)! Anyway, glad to hear your both well and enjoying the experience to the full. Looking forward to the next installment from you both........(53 Honor)

GLORY GLORY MAN UTD, GLORY GLORY MAN UTD, GLORY GLORY MAN UTD, WHEN THE REDS COME MARCHING IN.
Watched the game live with a load of vietnamesse/english arsenel scum bags. What a place to watch Utd do the whole of English football a favor and beat the cockney/french gits. Every english person in the place who was not a arsenel fan wanted them to loose ( maybe arsenel fans will know now what it is like to be a utd fan now). Anyway had to get on the board this morning and post a message to let everyone know that I watched it live. Still drunk atthe minute, Oh and Scrutts I for got to mention that beautifull city result last week. Go on the Blues take it which ever wayit suits.
Anyway me carla mitch and Asa are gonna go on a 4 day trek tomorrow to climb the highest mountain in Vietnam (it might even be the highest in this region, Laos cambodia and Thailand). I think the hieght is 3190mts. Looking forward to it as we pass thru loads of villages and meet lots of tribes people. Andwe camp rather than the guest house we were use to in Nepal. Sorry I still have not updated the photos yet but we will do it later today or if that fails we will do them when we get back from the trek.
All the best Rob and Carla
Ps. Pat sorry I did not log on, on Saturdaynight to chat with Mum and Dad, but everything here closes at 10-10.30pm, and I mean everything. You are lucky if you can get a bar still open at that time of night
