Mancs on Tour
Well I never expected to be this impressed with Mendoza. The journet form Santiago started with panic, as Si needed to be in front of a TV to watch his scummy team liverpool play in Europe. Well we did the Chille Argentina border crossing in time and things were looking good, untill the Bus guy added an extra hour and half on to the journey. This was not what Si wanted to hear and he started to flap.Without any waring he made an escape route staight away, which comprised of stopping the bus in some town in the arse end of the world thinkg and hoping that they had a TV. This seemed like a plan at that moment of madess but when we drove thru it I pissed on his chips and told him no way, as it really was a s*** hole, just like calcutta.
We landed in Mendoza with the firt half nearly over, and he was not a happy chappy at all. This made me laugh as i aint ever seen him get shirty, and he was close to boiling point. ANyway we got of the bus to be confronted by a argentina with dreads. With a blinding bit of negotiation we had ourselves a hostel with the footy on and free beer every day whilst we were staying there. Yes FREE BEER EVERY DAY!!!!!! How good was that to our abused bodies still not sure what had hit us in Santiago.
Anyway what a great hostel Andino Hostel was, the owners wre very special in deeeeeeeed. Whilst we were there we met a few people who I feel need a mention. Fist of all was Jon and Roz, brother and sister from glasgow, who I like very much, and will keep in contact with them when i get back. Then there was Stirlin the mad ozzy who was the fastest walker in the world with one ting on his mind, WOMEN. Gee's this guy would do anything for a shag, he just prowled all the time. Then there is Miles and Rosie. Who we are still traveling with at the moment. Now Miles Aka Mr Dunham is from the Dunham clan from Dunham Massey esate/park near Urmston. This fella is truely a gentleman from the highest order. Have had great fun with him and also look forward to meeting him when we are all back home.
Well Mendoza for me was all about the wine. Amazing how little you pay for such high quality red wine. I did a wine tour and now know what to look for in differant grape varieties and how to tella good wine from a bad wine. I have also been networking with vineyards and wineries.
I also did a day of rock climbing which i loved loads. Had a great day and climbed a very high wall in deed.
We found an excellent eat all you can for 3 quid, and the food was a high quiality.
There was alot of fun which happened too much to write about, but I will say that Mendoza is a must for anyone visiting Argentina. (as you can tell I have been writing all my postcards in one go and now I am feeling rather tired as I am sat in Uraguay, Montevideo after 4 hours sleep last night, waiting for the football to start, so sorry for the lack of interesting input)
