Mancs on Tour
Right then, we landed in El Calafate- Argentina after a ok bus journey from Chille. We came here, to see the Moreno glacier, which was an awesome sight in deed. Done with glaciers now, just like I am with temples or churches and Cathedrals. How ever still not getting bored with bars or pool halls.
Anyway we headed north to go and check out the Fitz Roy mountain, in a place called El Chalten, which is world famous among the climbing circles.
Anyway after booking a full day of ice climbing we got up at the crack of dawn to get told it was cancelled due to the gale force winds that were hitting us as soon as we got out of bed (the hostel was s***, it had holes and cracks everywhere). Anyway we decided to crack on and get some camping done and tramped through the park at record speeds. I thought I would be a hero and hiked up to the Fitz Roy viewing lake ( a mere 750 metres) with my backpack on. Did it also in record time but f+*ked my self up in the process. Had I not of re-opened previous wounds from previous trek's, we would of minced the whole thing in 2 days. Anyway we got the hell out of El Chalten and started a 2 day bus journey via El Calafate and Via a place called Rio Gallegios. The whole thing was 46 hours long. We had to endure a bus load of smelly people from all parts of the globe. But we landed safe in the fantastic place called Bariloches (The Lake District). We will be doing a full day of rafting then back up into the mountains for some more treking. I can honestly say that I am having a right laugh with my travelling buddy from the north of England, I am finding Argentina interesting and beautifull, how ever in between places is just bleak and deserlert, very baron to say the least.
Right then I will keep you all posted and look forward to some banta on the message board.
