So today we visited the grand palace in Bangkok. To get there we used our first tuk tuk which is a great way to get about the city especially when it's about 40'C! The palace is a complex of buildings which the king of Thailand resides. The buildings were covered in decorative tiles and paintings and were very aesthetically pleasing. To enter these sacred sights we had to have our skin covered on our legs so Sam and I bought some pretty nifty baggy trousers with elephants all over them. After this we went back to our hotel and made the most of the swimming pool on the 5th floor. Though people praise Thailand for its culinary abilities our first meal (dinner last night) was shredded fried catfish which was basically a bowl of batter unfortunately, so I'm sticking with the currys and rice!
