WATOC-What a trip
Australia may have Pauline Hanson as a Savior but here in Kissimmee (near Orlando) in Florida I was served by Jesus at Wendy's restaurant but even he takes second place to Donald Trump as the only way out and back to Democracy for the United States.(www.hannity.com) Who needs to go sight seeing when its all alive and happening hour by hour here. I hate going to Disney Parks (one of Omar Mateen's possible targets) when new facts are revealed and government officials are caught out lying or retracting äfter a false start"or now we have no that was this morning its now afternoon and the word REDACTS being used then retracted, Well if you are lost by now simply put the American people are being lied to by the Obama Administration as has happened the last 8 years but after being caught out continually have used "political correctness"as the way to explain all, hence the word redacts. This morning the Obama Administration said it was releasing the Orlando shooting 911 (000) tapes well 50secs of 2.5hrs good try at deflection? but in a redacts manner ie the words would be edited to OMIT any reference to ISIS or radical Islam ie sanitised version which would have bleeps to avoid smart people filling in the blanks. Well that was the idea but within hours the real Americans called enough!!!!! so the non redacts will be reversed. Just maybe some one is listening to people like Court Judge Jeanine Pirro who has called on loyal Americans publically since at least December 2015 "to arm yourselves if you are legally entitled too, with assault weapons,be trained in their usage at ranges and store safely at home but be prepared to use them to defend your family against attack because your Government cannot and will not protect it's people"Oh no the unredactive version has now being proved false No wonder Judge Pirro has a large following.
So what are the tourists doing in Florida?
We spent one day at Disney Epcot Centre. To get there we took a free bus shuttle for 4Min'ss from our hotel to the Disney Transport & Ticketing Centre (DTTC) from there one takes a modern monorail. Well that's what the commentary repeats they were replaced with the latest cars in 1992! Security is lax given the fact that Mateen was known to visit Disney properties in his planning of the attack eventually unleashed on The Pinch Night club.I use the word lax considering his wife who went with him to purchase ammunition, talked by phone while he was in The Pulse, got his "gift of $6000"a week before the shooting. But as her Primary school teacher said "she was a slow learner"so shouldn't be pursued, but the US Attorney General is also off with the fairies as she believes ISIS will be defeated by love?
So what does Disney offer?
Day one was Epcot and despite rain we enjoyed visiting the various themed area and enjoying a coffee at Starbucks. The crowds were not found maybe we are too early in the summer.Apart from the opening exhibit we did not encounter extended delays perhaps 3Min's was the maximum wait time.I attended the Space Training Centre and participated in a simulated space launch and mission, interesting but a little dated by 21st century standards. We both visited the Turtle talk with Crush. A interactive audio visual with Disney character Nemo and the crowd that proved a fun time with excellent audio visuals in 3D. Nemo and friends was a boat trip with a combinationn of clever interaction between real ocean creatures and 3D projected images of Nemo & his family. Conservation is an ongoing big aspect of all Disney parks and this was reflected in two other attractions The Circle of Life & Living with The Land. Lunch was expensive and slow in Sunshine Season's. It overall is interesting to note not only in the dining areas but all areas of Epcot that unlike my visits in the 1980's NO ONE wanted to smile or really appeared happy. Could this be a reflection of political correctness gone mad or don't they vet staff any more. I always remember the first time I went a staff member approached me and said "this is the happiest place on earth is there a problem Sir as your not smiling" I guess that would not be correct now? After lunch we decided it was time to visit some of the 12 major attractions in World Showcase. The first visit ,as planned, was to O Canada. This is a audio visual trip across Canada in a 360o theatre and proved well worthwhile and bought back great memories of many parts of Canada we have previously visited,as well as offering new sights to witness firsthand.rain intervened and had us retreat to shelter and another Starbucks. Before long it was time to move towards the lake and find a seat for the finale illuminations and fireworks. Time to the start went quickly taking to a Mormon Doctor and his family from Twin Forks Idaho. Well I guess you are all waiting for a blow by blow description of the fireworks.Wrong! Instead come and see one of my shows. It wasn't that fancy either in style or content.
The next day started with the usual shuttle bus, monorail, bus etc The destination was theme park Animal Kingdom perhaps the smallest Disney park so a great choice for day 2 of 3.Security was tighter and resulted in a body scan for both of us plus baggage checks for everyone.Perhaps the highlight not only of this park but the three of them was our visit to a live production with naturally VIP (read Senior seats) called Festival of The Lion King, It was well staged with 360 views audience participation and a huge cast.It is billed as experiences the pageantry and puppetry of the big as Broadway show" In a shaded theatre the Flights of Wonder show had a variety of birds of prey, exotic birds and for the US customers the Bald Eagle flying mainly free around us and displaying their flight methods. One parrot won over the audience with continuous talk and even singing Old MacDonald's Farm. Apparently it took three years to teach it that one song. Harambe markets provided spare ribs and chicken in an African style for lunch.
The afternoon saw us on a Kilmanjaro safari in a reserve with this time real animals at very close range without a fence (ok there were discrete moats) Lions,Rhino,Hippo,Girafee and Elephants were only some of what we witnessed live.To finish off the day i took a thrill ride Dinosaur before the usual shuttle back to the hotel and a Chinese buffet.
The third par is the original and perhaps the largest and certainly the best attended. One attraction had a 130 minute wait time and the park was only one third capacity! This is Magic Kingdom or Disney World as it was first called. It is generally well maintained a few smiles were to be seen. Of course no visit would have been complete without a nostalgic visit to Ït's a Small World" I last visited this attraction with my parents. Again it captivates and never losses it's universal appeal no matter the age.
Other visits included the BearJamboreee, House of Presidents, such a shame the current and recent Presidents didn't have the forethought and pride in America as did many of their fore bearers. A train journey at Animal Kingdom inspired a similar trip at Magic Kingdom and no visit would not have been complete without a river cruise on the Liberty Belle. A street parade at 3pm was colourful and entertaining but excuse the pun didn't put a bulb to the nightime Electric parade, followed by illuminations mainly making the giant 30 storey castle dance before our eyes and with the fat lady still to sing she was accompanied by a far better fireworks display but facing 20000 others trying to get the first monorail back to DTTC we left before the finale and made our 11pm last bus call and returned wearily to the motel after midnight. Fortunately our outward flight to Buffalo New York was a 3.13pm departure so we did not have to face an early start. At Orlando airport we did a kerbside check in and got a green tick of approval officially a TAC tick. Our travel agent had sent us a warning email of up to 2 hours at scanning but with our green tick we walked through not even needed was the usual computer separation and opening we were told keep moving don't worry about things in your pockets so we had ample time for lunch and a short rail terminal trip and boarded our JetBlue Airbus A320 to be given a whole row each. Guess that trip did not return a profit.
