Today we set off from our free camp to Townsville. We stoped in Charters Towers to get a coffee and some hash browns for the kids. Chaters Towers is a very tidy regional centre. Today we packed up and were on the road by 9:00am. We headed north from Winton stopping at Hughenden for lunch. The harsh country between was interesting. Grassy flats for as far as you could see. A gateway to a sheep or cattle station appearing every 30km or so. I reackon if you worked on a station out here, 90 percent of your time would be attending to water issues or fencing. Today we left caravan in the caravan park and headed west 110km (60km) of dirt. We arrived at the Dinosaur Stampede National Monument at Lake Quarry Conservation Park. Here 95 million years ago a heard of small legged dinosaurs and two larger dinosaurs came to drink on the edge of what was then a lake. Day 2 at Longreach. We packed up the caravan and headed back to the Qantas Museum to finish off patrs of the museum we didn't get to yesterday. At around 10am we headed across to the Stockmans Hall Of Fame to take in the Stockmans Show.
