Bundaberg is a great area. The country side is pretty, the weather is great and it's located on a river you can water ski on. It is also close to the beach and fresh seafood is abundant. An early start and straight into Bundaberg to the tourist information centre. There we worked out what we were going to do for the day. From the information centre we headed to Bundaberg Rum Distillery for a factory tour. Bundaberg Rum was started in the exact location it is today back in 1888. The tour was really interesting. From our camp at Goovigen we headed south west through Biloela to Bundaberg. Biloela is a really interesting area. Heavily irrigated, it looks amazing. Everthing from sugar cane to wheat and pinaples is grown here. We also came across a massive coal mine and power station just out of Biloela. The kids were up early and keen to have one last swim before we set off. We left our overnight stop and headed south toward Rockhampton, stopping at Capricorn Caves around lunch. The ancient limestone caves offer more than 1.5km of passages to explore. We chose to do a guided tour which took about an hour.
