We thought Colombia would be the one boarder that we'd be getting a very through luagge search but we didn't. Very easy to cross, get a taxi to the equador exit, walk 400m to the colombia entry then get a taxi to the nearby town. Had a stopover in Otavalo for a couple of nights to check out the massive famous markets. Nice town, but funny walking into the shops and seeing all the crafts we'd seen and brought along the way in bulk supply. Treated ourselves and went to a nice ceviche restuarnt for dinner one night, which was worth it. After our second night we were up every early to catch a bus to the colombian boarder.

Cuyabeno jungle is an amazing spot, and it was so good to get so far away from civilisation and deep into the Amazon jungle. Took about a 2hour bus ride from Lago Argio followed by a 4 hour boat ride to get to the lodge we would be staying at for the next 3 nights. Had a scenic bus ride into quito through the cloud forest, and had a good bus driver, which is always a bonus! Stayed in a hostel in the Old town, which was a nice neighbourhood. Had a bit of a look around the city and orgainsed a jungle tour.
