Flew to Bangkok to meet up with fellow GAdventures travellerers for our Indochina round trip. Spent the first day meeting up and re visiting many sites seen on previous visits. Took the overnight train to Chiang Mai where we climbed the 300 steps to Doi Suthep temple. The next day we visited the White Temple and crossed the border into Laos and boarded our traditional slow boat to travel down the Mekong over the next three days. At Luang Prabang we visited the Kuang Si waterfalls and later the night market. After a long drive over the mountains we arrived in Vang Vieng where we took a hot air balloon trip. Moved on to Vientiane the next day where we explored the sites. Flew on to Hanoi in Vietnam where we explored the old quarter and later visited Ho Chi Minhs Mausoleum and Hoa Lo prison.Another highlight of the tour followed with an overnight cruise in to Halong Bay on a converted junk. Returning to Hanoi we took an overnight train to Hue where we saw the very impressive Citadel , Royal Tomb and Tien Mu Pagoda. Hoi An was next where Indra took a noodle cookery class and then a flight took us to Ho Chi Minh City with visits to the Cu Chi tunnels and other thought provoking sites . We crossed the border on our way to Phnom Penh in Cambodia where we visited the killing fields museum and prison amongst other things. Finally to Siem Reap for tours to Angkor Wat and other temples before returning to Bangkok to complete the circle. Another excellent tour with GAdventures.
