Up bright and early, I got the minibus to the pier, ready for my day of snorkelling ahead. The journey itself was nothing short of traumatic. The damn Cyclone made itself known again with huge waves that caused about half of the boat to feel sea sick, including me - it was a disaster. Not exactly sad to be leaving Brisbane, I got on my flight to Cairns to find I had 3 seats to myself - success! Definitely not one to pass up the opportunity for a few more hours of sleep, I crashed out for the entire flight, meaning I felt a bit more refreshed when I arrived at midday. So today I decided I would stay in bed as I still feel absolutely rubbish and have no motivation to explore Brisbane! I did just about manage to walk to the shopping centre to buy some medicine and now I am sat in bed again, trying to get this blog up to date! - I think it's safe to say things have calmed down a bit. Excited to get our free breakfast at the hostel, we woke up only to find we both felt horrifically ill. Our throats felt swollen and it was virtually impossible to talk and breathe at the same time. After sending symptoms to my mum, we were diagnosed with exhaustion and what my mum likes to call 'travellers throat'.
