Leaving Goa today after spending a couple of days settling into India and planning the next stage of our trip. We'd done quite well, considering its monsoon season, to avoid rain until the last evening when the heavens opened and were soaked! By morning the main road had turned into a river which we had to wade through to catch the bus to the train station ready for a night booking. We are now reluctantly heading back to Mumbai. After a surprisingly good nights sleep we woke up with only a couple of hours left of the journey, but without the usual "the next station is … " found on the Leeds train, we had no idea when we had to get off. 9 hours later and Tom crying as his TV set on the plane didn't work! We arrive in Mumbai (11.45 local time) its not raining!! We have lots of forms to fill in for immigration and then we collect our baggage. So far so good. As we had 10 hours to kill before our night train to Goa, we took our lives in our hands and jumped in a taxi to the only place we know, the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba. Set off today after a fair well from mum and dad, we were on the plane to Heathrow. The excitement began when tom saw Clive Woodward (ex England Rugby coach) who as on our flight! We waited an hour or so at the swanky new Heathrow terminal 5, and boarded out flight to Mumbai.
