LA was just how i imagined it to be we were only there for 24 hours but it was typically very American. The scale of LA just from flying in i could tell was huge and everyone had massive cars just how i imagined it was all a bit too stereotypical. We headed straight to our hostel/hotel/motel dont really know waht it was and one annoying this is taht you have to tip everyone over there so this is not good right at the end of your travels. We headed staright to Venice beach to see some freaks and we were not let down. That too was typical with loads of skateboarders, body builder gyms and wierd busking acts. One homeless person had a sign saying please give me money for weed and beer and rightly so had minimal change in his hat, truth is not always the way someone should tell him. There was one very impressive 8yr old kid i think who was stupidly good at the guitar and he had drawn in quite a large crowd. We walked a way to Santa Monica pier where we missed a pink concert by 100m as we heard her speaking and when we got there she was gone but there was still a big crown of USC and UCLA students having battles to see who was better and we couldnt really be bothered to stay anround and wait for fall out boy. We went to their main mall thing and did some shopping and went for food. Ryan and Pat ordered a 24 ounce burger as they didnt know how large it would be and were not dissapointed by the size of it when it came out. They bought it to our table blowing wistles and everyone staring and it was my idea to eat alfresco and every other american came over and started chatting to us because of this monster burger (a pictures in the pictures bit) We watched a movie and headed back to our motel but didnt know where it was so this mexican taxi was driving round for ages so obviously we paid enough for him to have the night off. The mrning after we got up after a very long jet lagged induced sleep and taht was our gap year over with as we hopped on the BA flight which was very impressive by the way good food and watched many good movies with tvs in the back of seats so i didnt really get the chance to feel disappointed that that was the end.
