The coach trip to Tallinn was ace, apart from it was a single lane road all the way and the coach driver was making some dodgy overtakes. By the time we got there it was dark so decided to get a taxi. He dropped us off near the hostel. It took us a while to find because like Latvia it was on the 3rd floor and not easy to find. As it turned out the hostel was above a strip club. After some discussion James and I decided this wasn't a bad thing.
The students we met in Riga were stopping in the same hostel. They convinced us go on a pub crawl with a couple of other hostels. We said we were going to find food then we'd meet up with them later. We didn't find any food as we got distracted by cheap bars.
The plan was to have one with the students to be sociable then leave. The plan fell apart when James found a beer that was served in a 3 pint glass. He insisted it was 10 pints but it just looked that way because of his small hands. He needed to use both to drink it. We let the students go and stayed in the same bar til late.
We got up a bit later than planned so missed the walking tour. It's a small city so we found all the interesting points on our own. We found an awesome pancake place for lunch and went back to the hostel to chill for the night as we had to be up at 6am the following day to go to Russia.
There was an Australian guy called Jeff staying in our room. He was in his 50s. We invited him for a beer since he was alone. 7 pints later we called it a night. The 6am get up wasn't good. He invited us to stop at his place in oz.
We got on the coach to St Petersburg and fell asleep. The border crossing was nerve racking. 4 different people checked our passports and visas, everyone had to get off the coach with all their bags. Massive pain in the ass but at least they let us in!
When we got to St Petersburg we got off the coach to find no one could speak English. We decided we'd walk to the hostel. It took about 3 hours with a heavy backpack on because James got confused with the map reading. He has since been demoted to map holder rather then reader. We found the hostel in the end. We have a few days in St Petersburg before moving to Moscow.

Bob hows it all going, are you alive?
Mathew I'm very worried. First you mention students and then you mention a 50 yr old called jeff who not only travels alone, he invites strangers to his home - live in the bush does he? Him and skippy gonna have a great time having James and priddy bush tukka in the oz outback. No wonder I find it easy writing an odds list on you, the crazy stuff you do the odds write themself. Also, These students please say theyre over 18? Stay Safe, Stay Clean...stay out of jail x one other thing- £25 for a city tour talk about mugged off, you'll need to sell a kidney in Thai land!
Bob this man mat concerns me, how's russia?
priddy Cheers lads. Going good. Haven't done anything overly stupid
